Mandolin tailpiece

I’m not sure if this is called a tailpiece or saddle, maybe someone could sort this out for me. It’s cut from 20 gauge brass and needs a bit more work.

Comment by Dave Lynas on May 26, 2018 at 11:59pm: Very nice tail. It’s a tailpiece. If it had a bridge function it could have a saddle. The saddle is usually a bone strip that rides on a wood bridge, often in a slot across the bridge. The strings ride across the saddle from the tailpiece to the nut and tuning pegs.
