Damn! I've been pouring my heart and soul into my final project for my Master's of Music Education degree that I'm submitting tonight...was planning to record tomorrow...now I have to wait a whole YEAR to get on the next album. It'll be a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas...

(Maybe I'll write a song about it!)

Dan, Thank you very much for putting this together!

Thomas, The cover looks great!

Black Betty's Christmas... Ok I've had this thing for the Black Betty song, Black Betty has meant various things over the years....so I used my strengths and and produced what you're fixing to see.. I hope the video doesn't  over shadow the song.. Black Betty is a cat being brought home. I can't play a lick, maybe a Christmas wish will come through.. Enjoy... PS: What Movie is his from?  8^)

Fun video, Hip Bone.  You and that cat sound good together.  Cool old Merc.

On my phone now, so I have to wait on the download, but I love the artwork!

Wow what an album!!!  It's full of GREAT stuff. Great music and absolutely brilliant cover art.

Dan Sleep - thank you for coordinating this.

Yup.  Thanks Dan, Thomas B. (great cover art) and all contributors.  What a nice and varied mix we made.  Will see if I can burn a CD of it.  Merry Christmas, folks.

'Winter Thoughts" was, in fact, performed on a prima balalaika. "Kling glöckchen" was performed on my 3 string "sympatico" build. Merry Christmas and Blessings to all!

Ah, YESSSSSS! In the TRUE spirit of the season!

movie is "cobra "

Thanks for doing a great job, Dan! (-:  some outstanding varied submissions here, just going through them now, feeling Christmassy already... that doesn't usually happen for me until Boxing Day....! (-;

Lyrics to "For Absent Friends"....

FOR ABSENT FRIENDS!

THE KIDS TUCKED UP AT NIGHT TIME,
TOO EXCITED TO GO TO SLEEP.
XMAS  MORNING COMES SO SLOWLY,
FOR THE HARVEST THEY WILL REAP.

WELL THE FOOD IS ON THE TABLE,
DECORATIONS ON THE TREE.
ICE AND SNOW IS OUTSIDE,
FOLKS ARE WARMED BY GOOD COMPANY…

CHORUS – WHEN YOU GATHER ROUND FOR DINNER,
PLEASE DRINK A TOAST TO ME,
I’M THE ABSENT FRIEND WHO’D LOVE TO BE THERE,
PLEASE REMEMBER ME…

THE BRIGHT NEW TOYS AND TRINKETS,
ALL HANGING ON THE TREE,
ARE GIVEN OUT TO ONE AND ALL,
THERE’S SO MUCH JOY FOR FREE.

CAREFULLY WRAPPED PRESENTS,
ARE RIPPED APART WITH GLEE.
THE CHILDREN SO EXCITED,
THEY CANNOT WAIT TO SEE…

CHORUS – WHEN YOU GATHER ROUND FOR DINNER,
PLEASE DRINK A TOAST TO ME,
I’M THE ABSENT FRIEND WHO’D LOVE TO BE THERE,
PLEASE REMEMBER ME...

THE CHURCH BELLS ARE ALL RINGING,
PEOPLE SCURRYING TO SEE,
THE CHOIR SING AT THE SERVICE
AND THE GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE.

THE SHOPPING MALL IS CALLING,
PEOPLE SCURRYING TO SEE,
THE CHOIR SING IN THE GALLERY
AND THE GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE…

CHORUS – WHEN YOU GATHER ROUND FOR DINNER,
PLEASE DRINK A TOAST TO ME,
I’M THE ABSENT FRIEND YOU’D LOVE TO BE THERE,
PLEASE REMEMBER ME...
