Years ago, when I was playing in college bars for beer, I used to use a Bill Lawrence soundhole pickup in my old Ventura and Yamaha acoustics, plugged directly into the house sound systems. I also used to use a Barcus Berry Hot Dot surface transducer (similar to what the piezo disc pickups do) on the soundboard of my guitars. There's technically no reason you couldn't use a soundhole pickup in a CBG; it just depends on how big your CBG soundhole is, as most of them come sized  for standard acoustic guitars. Give it a shot, and report back as to how it works out!

 

Soundhole pickups typically come in a couple configs: 1) transducer types that respond to vibration - and there just aren't that many of those out there anymore - the Barcus Berry Hot Dot has been out of production since the 80's, and they are hard to find - eBay? - and anyway, they aren;t soundhole pickups strictly as they attached with a suction cup to the soundboard of the guitar; and 2) actual magnetic pickups that act just like the ones on standard electrics. Google "soundhole pickups" or hit the GC, Musician'sFriend, etc, commercial supplier websites to see the various types.

 

Some rather expensive new guitars come with soundhole pickups, actual internal microphones, and piezo bridge pickups!

 

Hmmm. I bet you could wire up a cell phone antenna mic internally to a CBG...
