The plate will make it sound different, but it'll work just fine.

Been there, done it, etc.

As above, but sounds well trashy with the metal and piezo mix. you may wish to consider an active preamp with eq in there. Condenser mic is good though...

My last one .....

 

 

A custom order going to my best customer. I was a bit concerned by the sound, but this one came out great.

Solid and twangy as heck. I discovered that it is very important to secure the plate to the box SOLIDLY.

And I put the piezo on the bottom of the plate, directly under the bridge.

recently finished this licence plate cbg. placed the piezo on the side and it sounds fine
