Howdy, I've been pickin a lotta years on regular guitar. I'd like to think I have a good touch. My GBG I can't keep in tune no mater what I do.

This is a zero fretted instrument that plays so good on the fretboard it's actually a little hard to play slide. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it but I thought I'd throw it out there. It has action like my telecaster does.

I didn't build this it was a gift but it's a nice instrument. Anyone have any tips?

Could be a number of factors ..  a photo of the guitar may help .  (especially the tailpiece / string anchor . )

What kind of strings ? nylon ?  steel  ?  bw ?

how long has it been out of the box and in your home ( climatizing )

how is the humidity there ?

have you tried stretching the strings ? etc   ..

I'll snap a pic here in a minuter. The builder was local so I don't think humidity is a factor. The strings are steel and the tailpiece is a door handle strike. I'll upload pics shortly.

re type that and click "html editor" in the top right  corner of the text box . then post ..  then your comment will show up .

its a weird site glitch.

Hopefully this will go through from the HTML text field.

hummm.. for some reason . i cant open the image .   . lol. aint technology fun ?

Did those come through anonymous pick?

Yup that worked .  Tail doesnt  seem to be an issue .  string wraps look  good .. (unless you can  see noticeable bending )

only thing i would suspect from the photos  is the bridge  may be moving and   knocking intonation out of whack ?

does it slide  around easily ?

It slides but you have to give it a decent tug. I would say it moves easier then my fiddle bridge but not by all that much. I don't get the sense that it's moving when I'm picking on the guitar but of course it could be and I can't tell. I'm going to try new strings tomorrow and see if that helps but the builder put these on Sunday. I gave them the old pinch and roll to make sure they were stretched out good.

The tuners are the sealed type that usually don't slip even if they're cheaper.

Their might be something to the bridge though because it stays tuned if I out it down for an hour perfect. It's when I play especially when I take the slide to it that it goes sideways.

ah . you may have to  tweek  the bridge a bit .   and not have it so  parallel.     some folks turn it on an angle to compensate  for the  fatter string etc ..    so instead of straight up and  down  like this  "I"      ON A SLIGHT ANGLE LIKE THIS  "/"

tune it so its in tune open ,, and also   while  notes are fretted  .

then try to mark that spot and  keep it there  . .

worth a try .
