hello!
I bought at ebay a magnetic pickup & Im trying to follow the circuit to learn how to wire my piezo.

I soldered a piezo with potentiometer & a jack.
now the pickup is working & I got a circuit but the potentiometer is not responding.
it's like the pickup is stuck on full volume.
I'm using 500K potentiometer.

by the way I have now XP in electronics and wiring.

I also suspect that the jack is stereo because it has 3 pins unlike the magnetic which has only 2.

what am I doing wrong????

does someone has a sketch of the circuit for dummies?

...Hopefully this page will help! (Make sure you GROUND everything properly!) :-)

wow thanks man! exectly what I was looking for!
ok I solered everything right but the volume still not responding!
is it because im using 500k?
another thing- the jack is stereo- do I need to care? if yes, can I still use it?

Any value of pot will work as a volume control. Yes the stereo jack will work fine. Plug your jack guitar cord into it and it is easy to see which two to use, black wire for the shaft and red wire for the tip. Do any wires touch somewhere else? In the diagrams are you looking at the bottom of your pot not the shaft side? I suspect some connections are reversed, or unlikely but you could have a bad pot.

You would use 2 piezos for a slightly mellower sound than one (bets decription I can think of) The parallel wiring works best, for me. Try it on your next CBG and see what you like better.
