Harley, I use ADF# some.  It is a good open D with easy to play chords in that key: A, D, and Bm.  It allows a GDG guitar another option - go from open G to open D with a few twists of the tuners.  I don't have the know how to help you further.  Do you now how to make the chords I mentioned?  If not, I could tell you that.

Hi, John. Chords are no problem. Theo's generator (http://chordgen.rattree.co.uk/) gives me everything I need for that. It's learning to pick individual notes that I need lessons on. I can use the generator to tell me what notes are where, but I was hoping someone had done up a lesson book on that particular tuning.
