This looks great. Im about to start on a Ukulele so this is very helpful. What type of wood are you using? And what is the white piece?

Hi, you would want to use a hard wood, rosewood in this case, the white is the bone saddle, or it could be plastic, bone gives better response normally.

Hey Taff - quick question:

 Are you drilling the string holes right at the glue line, or slightly above / below? (photo's a bit fuzzy - looks like 'slightly above' to me) I have a (probably unwarranted) concern about the string tension pulling right through the seam.

Thanks for this design .. It will be tried, adapted, and adopted!

Hi, the holes are just above the glue line, but in my experience the timber would give way before the glue I've used.

All good, you could use the loop over the tie block method, classical guitar style, if concerned. I used the knotted method on my recent build. Sorry not very tidy.
