Keith Richards Plays in open G....

Many of you probably already know this but Keith Richards often plays in open G. He removed the bass string and plays with five strings so if you have a 4 string CBG tuned to open G, you are one string away from playing a bunch of Stones songs. In the past couple of weeks I picked up Brown Sugar, Honkey Tonk Woman, and Start Me Up. Just google how to play those songs and you'll come up with videos pretty quickly.

try some of the uncle mark videos. he does a few Stones tunes

I love 4 string CGB tuned GDGB. You get the full open G experience on 4 strings. Also, many RL Burnside tunes work in that tuning. Plus, just don't touch the D and you've got some Seasick Steve going on.

I do this too. Then I tune up the low G back to A for A bar chords or to nail all those ZZ Top, CCR and ACDC tunes.
