The cleaned up wood looks pretty good to me Taff - how long before your family realise you are converting the whole house into guitars? :0)

I used cedar fence plank before. I had to dry it in the oven first and make sure it didn't have any creosote in it. It ended up being very soft. Especially since I thinned the top and back for better acoustics. Had to use a lot of inner bracing to keep it all straight, so watch out for that.

I love using reclaimed products for gits.
