This song was played on one of my homemade dog bowl 3 string guitars. I played this song using only two cords (C & F), because they are closer to my vocal range (Neil played it in G & D). I also used a cheap recycled $20 keyboard from the local rescue mission to do the background accompaniment & drum rhythms - and lined up the 3 recorded tracks in Audacity to merge them down into a single stereo .mp3 file, which I added to this motorcycle themed photo slide show video.
Low tech and simple techniques still prevail in crafting these musical arrangements! :-)

Cool, I use Audacity for recording as well.
Thanks Derek - not pro at all by a long shot. The mixer I used to combine the drums + dog bowl resonator playing + my vocal track (3 tracks in all) is a piece of 13 year old freeware called Audacity. All I did was have the software normalize the tracks (I left the default settings alone - cause I don't know what I'm doing in this regard) and just added room reverb to the combined tracks (using the Audacity default settings), and that was pretty much it . . . It took me longer to find and figure out how to use a piece of photo slideshow editing software - that didn't watermark up my music video than it did for me to record and combine these tracks in my old-school Audacity software... and turn the recording into an .mp3 file to use in making this music video...
Excellent George. Great vocals, playing and visuals! Sound quality sounds pro to me. I post to youtube first like the others. FB does have poor sound quality but they share more than a youtube link unfortunately, which is the trade-off I guess.
Yep - with a population of only "2" . . . I thought that picture fit the visual definition of a "small" town perfectly . . . it's funny how the youtube .mp4 movie file format brings out the audio much more clearly in these little video productions...
So did you get your dog bowl reso out of the shop and see if it also rang in the same way when you played it?
"Nice George", definitely hear the Dog Bowl ringing on this one!, the town of "Buford" seems like a nice quiet place! :-D
Thanks Clarky - I'm quite pleased with the way the project work turned out . . . although it does make me want to buy a used motorcycle and go ride the Highway 66 tour route while enough of it is left to enjoy (it's been added to my bucket-list)...
Thanks for the confirmations Uncle John and Richard. The playback audio as well as video is spot on to what was rendered into a video file in .avi format on this end, so that will be the way I do these video posts in the future...
Roger that, StorminSteve! . . . lesson learned on this end: Post to youtube first (they convert the .avi upload into a higher quality .mp4 format in the process), then post the link here on the Nation for others to hear the higher quality audio + see the visuals at a higher resolution...
Great work George, great sound quality!
Both fantastic. I always upload through youtube. It lets more view and the quality is a bit better.
