This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?
I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.
A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

When I hammer in frets, I start them with thumb pressure, then use a block of wood, so when I hammer them in, they go in even and the hammer never strikes the fret board
I had a radius-ed board to hammer the frets in, but it split down the middle into 2 pieces on the first fret. :0 Couldn't go out to my shop to make another so...
I should've mentioned the board in my earlier post because it's a good idea to use one. Thanks Richard for bringing it up.
Got the neck done on the Bo Diddly guitar, drilled holes for the bridge inserts and bridge ground wire, installed bridge inserts and drilled holes for the pots. Just waiting to get the Gold 3-way switch, Gold strap buttons and strings to paint and finish.
I tried out my paint on a piece of scrap. The scrap has grain in it and looks great, but the top of my box is Masonite, so no grain to give that marbling color effect.
Paint will be Dupli-Color Perfect Match Classic Silver Mica(Toyota color) with a light coat of Caymen Green Metallic(Ford color). Then I may use glitter infused clear on top.
that is looking good. I will keep my eyes out to see end result.
Thanks. I'll get around to painting it if it ever gets warm around here. Haha
That's a good deal. You need to get a blade for fine cuts too to keep splintering to a minimum.
didnt think of that..... havent opened the box yet.. got to make room in the shed for it first.
That's looking great.
1964 Regal by Harmony R200. I have had this for a few years now, really enjoy the sound of this one. Recently when I got the new Lynas slides, I was trying them out on this regal and I saw that dryness and such had made a few cracks on the top. After researching how to fix, I gave it a go. I was not looking for perfection, just not wanting the crack to get worse. I met that goal, but then was left with the decision to leave as is or refinish. I decided to sand the top, the body had painted on white border and rosette, the wood itself has tiger stripes on front and back. After sanding I decided to put teak oil on it. I like the look, but now I have decided I need to sand the back and sides. The back and sides are in good shape with original finish and all, but I don't think it looks very good with 2-3 tones of color. I plan on sanding the back and sides, and the neck. I want to leave the peghead as is and see how it goes. I have all original tailpiece and keys and I don't mind the patina and some rust, so am not touching them except some oil on the keys. I am looking forward to doing this. Will post when finished.
Thanks for looking.
I'm interested in seeing it when your finished.
Have you looked into how much it's worth? If it has value, any re-finishing will lower the value. I mention it because a lot of Harmony guitars are now valuable.
