After finding this site and watching Shane Speal videos, I made myself a challenge.... to build a CBG without spending a cent. Well, I did it. The box is floor laminate, the neck is a broken table top trim-off. eye-bolts for tuners, pop cans for sound hole covers, misc wood scraps and other parts from the junk box, stole the strings & strap from an old acoustic. Other than the $13 piezo/pot kit from CB Gitty, I did it with out spending a dime.

Good build. I made a cbg body from some left over flooring, but i wanted to paint the box. Took close to 2 hours using every sander I had to cut through the pre-finished surface to get to bare wood. Never again! If I make another flooring git, I'll keep the finish, or turn the plank over and finish the bare side. But I digress. Found items and junk can be put to many uses in cbg buildin', with great results. Whatcha got planned for no. 2?

Thanks JB.

T-Gripped, I pulled the 3-4-5 strings and the strap off of an old Trump 6-string acoustic I've had for 40 years. I think they were medium lights. Never could get stiff fingers cranked around six strings and pretty much gave up on it. Other than the piezo rig it really is made from scrap, junk, and left over materials I had on hand. This thing worked out way better than expected. Now I just have to learn to play it.

Nice! I am personally energized by the 'found-object' side of building. Did you use leftover strings??

Actually cut them with hole saw. Same as sound board.

Run the hole saw backwards though. Used cut outs under knobs
