This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Cool.

How thick is the box?

More work done on the Bo Diddly build to the neck, still a little ways to go.

Found this tennis racket on the curbside. Always wanted a A-style Mandolin.;)

I went back to work on my Bo Diddly style git. I stained the sides and back of the box with a light shade of Ebony stain. Then I used the same stain on the neck, headstock and fretboad in a dark shade. Also drill ed holes and installed fret markers. I used Seafoam Green plastic coat hanger for that, though it would look nice against the black and look nice with the Caymen Green Metalflake that's going on the box top.

Next will be the side markers, frets and Tru-Oil on the fretboard, headstock, neck and box sides.

Paul,

What do you use to cut your dots from the coat hanger? That's a great idea. One hanger can provides many gits worth of dots.

I took Paul's suggestion as well, I used my dremel with a thin cutoff wheel, then used an exacto to clean up the flashing.

I use a Xacto hand saw. The problem with the "coat hanger dots" is that some have a hollow center through them. So 1 hanger was used for this fretboard and the rest went in the trash. Still not a bad deal since I got 9 or 10 hangers for less than 2 bucks at Walmart. Some of the hangers have a weird design in the middle that can look great.

Looks good Paul and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who takes off his pants to build instruments.  :D

As long as you don't have to take off your pants to play with your instrument LOL
