If you post a file, (wave/mp3) just note the following
1. Tempo (record to a metronome)
2. Time Signature
3. Count In, how many beats did you wait to start recording (8 should be about right, you can trim the excess after the mix. don't use your software's count in feature because it wont be compatible with other software.)
4. Key or number chart.
That way anyone can record in any software and collect only the parts of the project they want to use.
If anyone can play along with any software, it may grow legs quicker.
Just a thought.

I would like to become a musician... any tips?

I'll have to go back and look, but I think it was .wav. I wanted to run a backwards track, and Audacity allowedme to do it, while Garage Band didn't. My usual sonic wierdness, don't you know. I'll have to try it again and get back to you.

Henry, were you transferring "export" files (.wav, .mp3)? Or "project" files (.aup, whatever GB uses?)

Hey, Tres and Ted! On my latest cd, I used both audacity and garageband on one song, transfering files between them without any problem.
