Welp, last night I had my first cigar since around 2002 and...I didn’t like it. I mean, it was fine blowing smoke rings and kicking back for a bit, but it didn’t take long for a real aversion to the taste in my mouth to develop. Kind of made me a little nauseous, even. I ended up not finishing it. So I guess I’m not built for smoking anymore. Which is probably good because I’ve already damaged myself enough with food over the years. I need to move more and stay hydrated, and cigars seem to work against both.

It’s really too bad. I wanted to love it. Guess I’m stuck with eating my vegetables instead of lighting them on fire.

I love a good cigar! Smoke about 2-3 per week. It's fun to show the cigar shop owners what I do with their boxes. I tried to sell a couple on consignment at a cigar store but found no takers. CBG's attract guitar players  more so than cigar smokers. I usually get good deals on the empty boxes when I also buy a couple of cigars. I want to help keep them in business because without them I've got nothing to work with. I'm jealous of Chickbonejohn showing off his Havana. I'm hoping some day we can get Cuban cigars here in the states.

I'm at 1 to 2 a week, and a few pipefuls since I collect and sell pipes. I am hoping to one day smoke a havana before I go. I do love a cigar though. Everything about them. I brought a cbg into the shop last week, and a guy loved it and asked me to build him a six string. I had it in the shop without even the consignment, but no bites. I only put it in there for a week though. I have sold what I put on etsy, and locals. You have to try the ones in the link I gave blues frog. I can't smoke enough of them and they are two bucks and some change. They taste and smell great.

Also speaking of cigars this week I had some display cases the owner of the cigar shop gave me since I have a booth in an antique mall. They were sitting in the cigar shop and I had nowhere to put them. I had no use for them, but he said I could sell them.He just wanted them out. I wanted to be considerate and get them out of there, so I wrote a funny email  imitating those crazy used car guys from the 80s on the commercials to all my fellow vendors offering them the cases in exchange they had to purchase some cigars for me at the shop and leave them at the counter. Needless to say, one girl got mad and asked to be taken off my mailing list, and the owner of the antique mail sent and email all around to everyone reprimanding me and stated no sales are to be made without them getting 12 percent. Ha, 12 percent of a few cigars. I'd just give her a whole cigar to avoid having to cut off the equivalent of 12 percent of three. I felt jaded about their snobbery all day, and then later that evening a girl wrote me saying she thought the message was hysterical, and wanted to get me a few cigars even though she had no place for the cases.
