I am also interested in a festival or meeting in our area. I can travel anywhere in MA, NH, Southern ME. I don't have any organizing experience, but I will help in any way.
Thanks for the welcome, John. The part like to emphasie is having, "a lot to learn." It seems like each box teaches me something new. I am working on one now with an angled neck,I usually do a neck shape with the headstock out of 4/4 Mahogany or cherry, so gluing up the angled head-stock is new. So far the angled neck seems strong - as long as I can get good sustain from it, I think I will use it on some models.
hey Martin, welcome aboard. I'm jealous of your woodworking experience. I'm getting better, and I'm meticulous, so hopefully that makes up for the skill part a bit. this spot is pretty quiet, but I think this region is due for a festival!!
I am new to CBN. I have been a woodworker for years and have built several dulcimers previous to building CBGs. That experience made shifting to guitars very easy, though there is still a lot for me to learn. Hope to connect with other builders, especially around Boston and the North Shore, but I hope to also connect with others any where on the planet re; CBGs. I am also planning to attend a festival or two next summer. Any questions about how I build, or shop tips are appreciated.
Hey Jeff gimme a heads up on the next event your at Ill Ill come down to shoot the shit
John, It's actually and old brass rifle shell (can't remember the caliber). Guess I forgot most of my science stuff from high school, what would be the galvanic reaction issues?
ACE and Jeff, those are pretty nice! Always amazed at what folks are building these days. Still can't find too many folks around my way into this. I think they are all hiding. I've been bringing mine to all sorts of concerts and getting the artists I met to sign it. Everyone seems to love it. ACE is that a old trumpet piece for a bridge? Look out for galvanic reaction on it with the strings. Depends on the materials and storage. Take awhile though.
