switch 500 k pots and treble Bleed it .

If they work, I wouldn't rewind them. They are probably worth more than the guitar in original spec.

Comment by Paul Craig on October 9, 2017 at 8:49am: What are the cap and pot values Mr. C? It could be that a change of cap/pot values or wiring mod could help. It could even be the metal pickguard that is effecting the sound in a negative way. Some times the metal pickguard helps and sometimes it doesn't.

A good setup with pickup height adjustments can make all the difference in the world. If you don't know how, just ask. ;)
