From reading several build plans and designing my first CBG I want to place electronics inside that I ordered from Gitty supply. Should be here today. I am wonder if it best to secure the lid in someway other than glue that all the plans are saying to do. I  am unsure if glue is the best way with electronic inside. Could I reinforce the inside corners and screw the lid down? Or would this take away from the sound of the box? Wondering how best to go at this, for future maintenance on the electronics. Any advise would be helpful how best to attack this.

yup . screw the lid  .  or;:

-make  back access panel  .

or -make front access panel  .(mount controls on a removable panel ) (like a tele )

or -glue the lid . screw the back .

Hello,
I would suggest gluing corner blocks to each corner of the box that the lid can screw into. That way you can open to box to make adjustments to the wiring if necessary.
I hope this helps.

I second gluing in corner blocks and screwing the lid into them. Works great. Helps keep the lid from vibrating too.

I third adding post supports to the corners, and screwing the lid down.

I got my first build mostly done. I may add a couple more items thou. I did screw down the lid. Sounds good. Thanks guys for all the help and advice here. Was a big help.

I did wood burn the fret lines in. Also added the Gitty piezo setup and some brass sound holes.

Need to add a strap for it. Why I put the hole up at the top. May or may not good for that or just for wall hanging.

I make small hardwood posts glue in corners of the box drill pilot hole countersink the screw head down job done here's a pic of what I'm working at the moment I just did the post routine hope it helps mate

Thanks for the tip on screw support. Much appreciate it.

use metal corners. that's what I use.

This may be late, but I wouldn't glue any top, since repairs to anything inside, including the electronics will be impossible. I use screws wherever needed.  I have only built eight so far, but am "gaining ground".
