This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Glued a fretboard to a neck and put it in the clamping jig.

Update on the SGI, body is painted and 'horns' attached, neck is getting painted, the oak fretboard has slots cut and clay fret dots, I also stained it with dark walnut to get a darker look.

Looking good Lonman.

Thank you Paul

Got the neck finished and attached to my Strat-O-Res guitar.

Made a template for the pickguard. The pickguard will either be Black or painted to match the body. I'm leaning to matching the body, but that will be hard to match the tint perfectly.

Got the pickups in and wires ready for the pots and 5-way switch, but I need a pickguard first. Don't have anything around the house or shop big enough, so I guess I'll be getting a sheet of pickguard material for it next month.

wow, looking forward to seeing the end of this one.

Thanks, it should be finished by the end of the month if nothing interferes. I'm looking forward to it myself.

This things going to ring like a bell, anywhere you tap on this guitar you can here that pan ring out.

Non-CBG

My parents are in their 70's, and my father's career in the Navy included a ship-to-ship fuel hose falling on him.  He recovered but it pre-disposed him to partially debilitating knee and back problems.  He had lots of trouble and needed help getting into the house through the garage.

so I build them some new stairs.

this is my son-in-law helping me demolish the old ones.  The old ones had a 7 3/4 in rise for each step, and an 8 in rise from the last one to the threshold of the door.  My father needed help getting in the house with these old ones.

So I custom built some new stairs for my parents The new ones have a 6 in rise between steps which is good for my mom, and still comfortable for us able-bodied members of the family. The tread does not stick out beyond the riser so his toes won't catch going up to the next step.  The top step is tucked right up at the door threshold, less than an inch difference to the floor inside the door. The left 1/3 has half-height steps for my dad, so he can take the stairs in 3 in increments.  New and proper handrails are installed so he can pull himself up the stairs much more easily.  I left the old 2x6 handrails in place since they didn't interfere and would add some support to keeping the new handrails stiff.  and a new lever style door knob to make it easier on him to open/close the door while holding the rails.  He was tickled pink trying it and finding he can get in and out without any assistance now.

Great job and design JL.  Great to see a family project done by a couple family members.

Thank your Dad for his service from me please.

Worked on a neck for my DC Tele build and did a couple mock up pics.
