Announcing the St. Louis Mo. Cigar Box Guitar Club builders contest was tough. We had six entries and the judges tied so we pulled in a forth judge which broke the tie. We judged on three areas, Fine (craftsmanship/play-ability) (re-purposing material) ( uniqueness that caught the eye). And the winner is Jason Carter with his vintage level lap steel. The pickups are hacked transformers/magnets, the jack was an RCA almost never seen, even the tuners were reshaped thumb screws. Very cool and as you can see him here with his son holding Justin Johnson loop station ready for some serious jams.
The contest was a blast and we will definitely be having more fun like this.

Be sure the driver wears a proper hat and that snacks, Diet Pepsi, and a porta potty are included.  Oh, and a good amp.

Cool and congrats!   And I hear you are having a swampy jam.  I am going to attend if Pick picks me up and chauffers me down.
