Does anyone out there have any idea of what type Timber this is ??.
It's from my trusty recycled Piano, which was made in England in the 1950's, I'm thinking Oak ?? of some sort or possibly Maple ??

Hard to speculate about photos without a crosscut which could help to identify the timber: on the photo steamed beech on oak:

bottom pic is an Oak.,.,the top pic likely is too, but I would have to sand on it to know for sure.,.Old piano's are great pickens .,.,

I vote for beech, a timber that is used for pianos.

Dave, the Warren Commission on Woods does list it as Lee Harvey Ozwood.
