They were discussed on here a while back Timothy, and it was said they aren't too bad, i think by memory Chicken Bone John built one and did an article or blog on them, what was the price?

At the money it can't be beat. Fibreboard box with a printed film finish, but it's got a maple neck and a simple piezo pickup. I know a lot of people love to hate these, claiming that they rob sales from "genuine" cbg builders. Of course it's not "the real deal", but we don't notice any negative effect on our sales of "real" cigar box guitars. A while ago someone bought a "Blues Box" from us, then a month later dropped £300 on one of our twin pickup cigar box guitars, so for them it was a good introduction.

great analogy John, no threat to people who make crafted gits,but an intro to newcomers, kids etc, who may buy upscale, or even better, think they can personally improve on the store bought item and add there experience to the knowledge pool

i agree , it lowers the barrier to a first time player not willing to spend a lot of money on something that might just be a fad. once they get bitten by the bug they will want a better instrument..its inbuilt flaws short scale and too high action will see to that.

If you are not happy with this baby bought for $27.99 AUD or $20.85 USD you got a set of three strings, three tuners, two bolts, a harness with piezo and jack, a glass slide, a well made booklet and a CD, so what...
