Thank you for your friendship request Andries, I have admired your work and enjoy your music as well. Your request is gladly accepted and some of pictures are great as well. Have a great day sir.
Hi Andries, appreciate the fact that you do look at the likes, just about to post build no #246, so still have a few days left in the year to fill in !!!!
Hi Andries. I'm still at the start with our duet. I've been into summer projects up at the lake. Rebuilding a roof on my studio ans sauna up there. I still want to get the MP3 thing going though. I'll still get on it. Sorry if I might have offended you about the moving microphone. I find it distracting to your sound. Part of it is from my past experience. I have a friend who likes to wear his recorder like a body camera. He would move around while we'd play to record. I never liked that sound. Just personal preference. Keep doing what you do Andries. I love your art Andries. Keep it ON! :^)
Thanks for accepting my friend request "A.D." and I sure appreciate your kindness. I tried to commenting back to your comment on my profile ,but it kept bringing me here ,but I'm sure you'll see. Again thanks
J.D.
Thanks A D this area was mostly Cherokee Tribe My Great Grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee so the Bloods in Me and Love for these Mountains. Always wanted to retire here in Appalachian Mountains . Hiawassee Ga surrounded By Mountains with lake Chatuge all around it , Brass Ball Mountain is Highest Mountain In Ga over 4800 ft My Cabin is at 2400 ft only 80 Miles from Cherokee NC and Smokey Mountain National Park
Love it Here Lot's of places to Jam and make music. Soon as I can get Me a Pa system gonna go out and play live music in some of the tourist locations in the area.
Hey Andries, mine is an old Morley Steve Vai wah that I haven't used for years. I also have one built in to my Line 6 amp that I don't like very much. The music I play now doesn't call for that sound much but I still like it. The first time I remember using one is on the theme from Shaft. Do you remember that?
I used some dark stain and some shellac on the last one and i don't think it changed the volume very much. The box I used was bigger than your hourglass so that might be part of the reason.
I guess it all depends on what type of lacquer you use as to whether it affects the sound etc., when I do use lacquer I use a commercial 'Brushable French Polish', which is a mixture of Shellac Flakes and Spirits, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect the sounds/tone etc.
Hi Andries, here is a picture of my first electric. I didn't play in any bands myself since many of my friends did and they were EXTREMELY better than me! :) But I still learned a lot of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Zeppelin, Rush, etc. though I always played more acoustic stuff than anything, like Jim Croce, James Taylor, Beatles, and the Eagles of course.

Thanks, Andries. Two of my three big box tenors come close or do achieve the sound I am after. And the volume. The third is a bit quiet unplugged.
Rotary Speakers! Cool, haven't seen any of those for a long time.

Yup Andries, not a cigar box but the teardrop dulcimer is a very traditional shape and yours has a great sound!
Thanks Andries! Enjoy your music and support and friendship!
