Hey all.  I was wondering if anyone has used the products from CBGitty.  I am in Japan, and I saw the posting on the tuning pegs for CHEAP.  I would like to buy them if they are good, but I don`t want to sink a bunch of money into them if they SUCK.  I was planning on buying 10 packs of the pegs.  Tuning pegs here in Japan are out the roof as far as price.  It would lower my cost on making these CBGs if I could find a great shop with good prices and that can send products to Japan.  I am already paying over 10 dollars per CIGAR BOX (price plus shipping) ordering from America.  Can any of you out there give some insite on the products esp. the piezos, jacks, and the tuning pegs?  OR if you have other sites for ordering products, please let me know.

Much thanks.

Radio Shack for piezos and electronics: http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=piezo&am...

I've been to Japan I can't remember Radio Shack there. Yes? No? Shinjuku has blocks and blocks of electronics stores there, right? What city are you in?
No, there are NO Radio Shacks here. There are very sad "home centers" though, but I can NEVER find anything that I am looking for. It is ALWAYS just a little bit short of what I want. I have never been to that part of Tokyo (Shinjuku) even as famous as it is. I don"t get up that way very often. I am in Kochi City on the island of Shikoku. I have been here since 2005.

I thought Japan had nothing for cbg's as well; at first!
Last week I bought enough rosewood, pau rosa, hard maple and ash for four necks (less than sixty dollars), i bought mono quarter inch jacks, tune and volume pots for those guitars (less than twenty dollars), i found an antique cigar box, which I haven't bought yet, and i even found tuners (a set of six for less than ten dollars).
it's true there's no radio shack but you can find what you're looking for if you know what to ask.
and to be fair, i visited tokyo when i got most of this stuff.
and go to akihabara station.

Two thumbs up for Gitty!
Sweet. I appreciate it. Where exactly are you? Do you ever come down to Shikoku? If so, you need to look me up. Do you have a SKYPE account? Maybe we could chat sometime, or trade more ideas. Later.

I just placed my first order on Thursday morning and it was in my mailbox on Saturday - good products and excellent service! Thanks Gitty!

altho this is an old old thread, i thought i'd bump it with a little story for you...

last month i was needing some tuners and fretwire, so I got on gitty's site and ordered 10 sets of the budget tuners and a pound of the regular wire.  The total came to about $170Au, remember I expect to pay a bit on postage, Im in Australia.  I didnt even need my credit card, cos the site remembered me from last time, super easy..

well a day or two later I was looking at my internety bank and there was a credit for nearly forty dollars from CBGitty..

immediately I thought oh bummer, hes out of the fretwire and im only getting tuners...   This was gonna be quite a problem, I had a couple necks sitting there waiting on the frets..  Well I checked my email and theres a note from Ben, hey Jef, I managed to save you quite a bit on shipping, cheers.. Ben....

imagine that!!  U know.. I had cheerfully paid the full amount the website had calculated and asked me for... I would never have known what he was actually charged...  How many online stores would you expect this kinda thing from ? Please buy from Gitty, especially if you're in the USA, its a no brainer..

edit... one more thing... I had the package, on the other side of the planet, in less than a week!!  I often wait 3 or 4 weeks for foreign packages...

I buy all my tuners and hardware from CBGitty.  His piezo rod pickups are top notch.
