Oh yeah Pick. I'm gonna go shake my Swampy anyway!

Thanks for the info Randy. I knew other folks had done similar stuff but had never seen the toy mic used. Now Pick tells me he used the spring from inside these mics some time ago. Still, lots of fun trying stuff out like this.

Thanks Andries. Yeah I used to have the stand alone Fender tube reverb unit. Those things go for huge money now but the sound couldn't be beat. I was looking for a way to do this with a non amplified instrument and it seems like this might work.

Thanks for clearing that up Pick. I certainly knew that this isn't a new idea but I'd never seen one of these mics used for it before. Funny that you'd used the spring from them long ago.

Jim check out Old Lowe on Facebook...he did something similar with one of his cones suspended by 4 springs in a box..also Steve [ Bones ] has played with that same idea many years ago.  Cool to discover a kids toy that will open the door to another to another neat idea !

I think it was AGP# from down under who done some simular exspiriments on this To Bad he NEVER posts Sounds ! Sounds  verry plouseble to me Jim !!Just as Pick say's Ampt up and volume controled will bee the best option, But then again most amps got it these days, some times its hard to have the mind set "Öld Timey",  and we life in 2016. I allways liked the spring reverb from my Fender Twin amp, fat and loud, a pitty to big to carry around for a three string, but he don't let me limit anything or anyone! BUILD ON ! greeeeettsszz A.D.

As  for the swamp witches  ..  i  "used  to "  put  springs   in  all of them  .   till  i   got  requests   for  without, and  with,     etc  ..  now  i   only  do  it  if  requested  ,   yours  does not have  one  Jim  , funny  though  ,  it was  the same  spring  from  inside those  mics , lol  , till  i  found  a nice   spring  at canadian  tire  stores  .  it  makes a  subtle  difference  ,,  but  more  pronounced  if you  run it   past the  back of the  pickup  . some  folks  like  it   , some dont  .  i  havent  installed  one   for  quite a  while  now  . so  subdle  it was almost  pointless   unless you  ran it   past the pup  , and that was  too  much for  some folks . maybe an installed  mute   would  help  that  .

another  member    here  tried  these  mics  installed  with  membrane   and all  . forget  who  it was  tho  ..   great  minds think alike  ;-)
