I started playing around with this chord progression and it sounds like something I've heard before. Been two weeks and it's driving me crazy. Any help?

Thanks Mad Mike and Sammy.  I'm happy to say I think this is original enough for me after all the input. That's the real trick isn't it? Steal away until you get something that really comes from you and your guitar.

Thanks for a good discussion everyone.

RTZ

(Hey, you DID ask...) MIDI is "Musical Instrument Digital Interface." It was created by several competing manufacturers in the 1980s and has been referred to as "the standard that just won't go away." Virtually every electronic keyboard or computer simulation of an electronic keyboard is capable of sending and receiving MIDI signals to "talk to" other electronic devices.

I think Turtlehead just meant it as a generic term for "electronic" keyboards.

sweetest tune I've heard in a while mate. Love it.......put some lyrics to it. There were a number of chords that had me thinking I'd got it.....but then they faded away ha. Lovely comments from folk below I read with interest. Makes me want to understand music more, you guys are so advanced. Brilliant, loved it.

So much more information now. People learn much quicker. I miss the old days with a record player and a chord chart learning Black Sabbath songs. I might use that site quite clever really.

The ascending  descending turnaround  hates me

What's Midi?

Nice tune....

Right on Oily.  I'm working in that direction, there are some cool up the neck bender licks I want to add...

LOL Clock.  Feels like and Arby's night.

You got me RTZ.  Next project is to sample all the notes of the guitar and just play it through a midi keyboard.

I haven't been on the site much lately but I think I found how he does these excellent 3 and 4 string songs. Chorderator or something like that. I thought tabs were bad. Lowtech Larry eats at Arby's

Isn't that from an old Arby's commercial?

Well, turtlehead DID ask, soooo...

But, I think the pedal bends are a really nice start to making the progression his own.

Turtle, a suggestion: try playing it as an ascending turnaround, or alternatively, split it down the middle: descending one way, then ascending the other. Make it circular back to G. Then play some passing notes in between.
