I found that if you place an order of $150 or more from CBgitty, the shipping is free. That helps, but the low dollar value is what kills you.

I tried to "load up" my order from Gitty but by adding very little it doubled the shipping which I thought was already double so I didn't continue. The service and quality was great but $25 shipping on a $40 order didn't make sense and now adding .40 to every dollar really puts the nail in it.

My experience - shipping ground post from US is minimum $10 - I load up my Gitty order to get full value for this cost - arrives in 7 to 10 days - has a tracking number which is really neat

Go on ebay and search for what you want. Then sort by price plus shipping lowest. Jawbone clued me in n this sort.

avoid  ebays  "global shipping   program"   it's  a  crock  ,    takes  2wice as  long  . and   they  max out  brokerage  fees  .

avoid  ups , they are  crooks  .

get  regular  post  us post  ground .

Hey Guys!  I'm in Toronto and have just finished my 50th build yeah!! I post infrequently but I'm trying to get better!  I went down to Pensylvania CBG fest 2 years ago met Shane Speal and David Sutton and the rest of the originals and I highly recommend you plan a trip out there this Summer!

I'll be hosting another large show at a great venue again this Summer and I'll let you all know more details soon as I can but just wanted to touch base with all you lovely builders out there!  I have trouble uploading videos and photos on this site sometimes but all my stuff is on my instagram @jjjjshoejjjj or just google #deadheadwoodworks

Build, play, repeat!  Keep strumming everyone!!

Online fret calculators work well. Clamp your ruler to the fingerboard before you mark the position of the fret slots. I cut my slots first with a very fine thin hobby saw for position accuracy then use my coping saw to expand the slots. Piezos - good advice in the other post- I use silicon caulking to hold them to the body. On number 6 now - no issue with these methods.

There are fret calculators on line. I had a fretting table from a book and made myself a fret ruler. I use it to transfer marks off to the fret board I am working on. Piezos are fun. A tip on soldering leads to them: 1. Tin your wires first. 2. Put a solder dot on each of the brass (ground) and white (positive) sections. 3. Place the tinned wire on the solder sot and then put the hot iron on top until the wire sinks in. Release and cool. I use 500 k pots for volume control. Some use 250k for a warmer sound.
