Yup.  What Gary said.   I've had plenty of screw ups and some NOT fixable.    Can you cut off the wrong side saddle with a table saw?  Cut  a bit high and plane or sand down?

Hmm... that looks familiar! When I did that I bandsawed the heel off, smoothed off that area and made a new heel for the correct side. I was ashamed enough that I didn't post anything about it! This makes me feel better (a little)
