Let Go - Busking and looping with a Cigar Box Guitar

VIRTUAL TIP JAR! https://www.musicxray.com/tip_jars/12975

https://bemuzic.bandcamp.com/

Haven't put a video on in AGES. Have been busy recording songs for a new album which is nearly done!
Also getting used to new computer, new video camera and new software etc etc.
Think I'm back in business now : -)

I've been trying out taking my Roland AC33 amp busking, and putting the output from that into a Zoom H2N to try and get better sound on my videos.
I can't carry that amp and my suitcase pedal board, so just used a Boss FS-6 switch to control the looping (no undo!!)
I also mixed in some of the camera sound to add a bit of atmosphere...
Filmed on a GoPro 4 Silver
More videos to come when I get them sorted out!

Folk clubs are where I started and built up the confidence to play and sing.

Most people are more than happy to encourage and offer help / advice and I've seen some fabulous performers in folk clubs over the years.

As for the AC33.. I think I'll keep an eye out for one on ebay.

I have a couple of looping pedals which are great in the studio, but to have a looper built into a portable amp would be very useful !

Thanks for your replies Sweety :0)

yeah the AC33 has a basic looping function. You can control it without the pedal with two buttons on it...but if you're playing a guitar you really need a foot switch to control it.

I suppose it's controlled if people have bought tickets, then they seem to sit and listen (but I've never played anywhere that people have paid to come to!) In a pub I wouldn't say drunk people who haven't particularly come to listen are that controlled...I'd rather have the kids! My Grandson makes me laugh...he points to a guitar for me to get it down and play, but after a few minutes he points to the wall for me to put it back!

We've gone to a few folk clubs recently and there people really do listen. Must go and play and the open session sometime. I do find it scary that people will listen closely, although in other ways that's what I want?!

I think maybe the reason Busking is different is because when playing on stage it's more of a controlled environment and people are there specifically to listen. However Busking puts you amongst people who maybe don't give a monkeys about music..... and kids !!! Who can be utterly ruthless !

I have a tech-er-nical question please?

You say you used a Boss FS-6 to control the looping, but that's not a looper itself,

so what looping pedal is that controlling? or does the Roland AC33 have an onboard looper?

Fanks Missus :0)

thanks Gary. I'm not naturally extrovert and was terrified when I first did it, but now like it much more than playing in a pub or something. As you say I don't know why it should be any different?! I also like busking as I can people watch while I'm doing it...

Unless you're naturally extrovert, Busking takes a bit of bottle to put yourself out there amongst the hustle and bustle of a town. I've played many times on stage in front of an audience and I'm fine with that, but busking scares the shit out of me :0) I don't know why it should be any different, but it is.... to me anyhow.

So you get my admiration straight off.

Nice tune this one, rolls along nicely.
