I think Wikipedia has info on it.  I read about it a few months ago.  They were mostly acoustic, I believe.  Made in the 20's 30's 40's 50's.  Four strings and open tuned.  Very much like a CBG.

Here's one I made this year. Scale length on tenors is typically 23", but other short scales that are close will work. Common tunings are CGDA, GDAE, or DGBE. Nut width for tenors hover around 1-3/16". As Ron said, there's over 70 pages of info here from other builders who have dabbled in this. And Clock the Wolf's link is good too.

1Sold last week, so dont have to measure. But the nut is 1--3/16", scale is 22-7/8", 21 frets, and tapers toward the bridge that has a spacing of 1-1/8". Hope that helps.

Saw your photo. Looks like you will need to adjust your neck further down to have enough "heel" to bolt it on. Likely, by setting the 17th fret at the body/heel . It may alter your intended bridge location. But without moving the neck down a bit, the neck to body strength may be compromised.

Yes it does.

That neck is just a template from 3/8" mdf.

I just kinda laid there to get a picture to post.
