This is a tenor scale uke with an Achihua neck and blood wood fingerboard. Inlay is paua shell. I cut the sound holes out around the label to make sort of f holes.

Wow! What a gorgeous uke! Those sound holes rock! What's the size of that box?

Thanks all! I had a great time building it. The box is 10x7.5x2 inches.  It is one of the best sounding instruments I have made to date and I credit the achihua for most of that. I am going to miss it as it is going off to its new owner soon.

I'm in the process of doing a tenor uke for my niece so how did you tie or knot the strings with a floating bridge?

Hi Gary,

Here is a picture. There is a tail piece that the strings go into. I use an 1/8 bit to drill string holes in the tail piece and then protect them with 1/8" eyelets on either side. The string is tied around a glass bead to keep it from slipping through the hole.
