No band saw - headstock cutting

I am in the middle of my first build. At this point, I need to cut the headstock down but I don't have a band saw. The neck is red oak which also makes this tough going. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this without the a fore mentioned band saw/power tools.

try a coping saw. basically a cheap, hand powered jig saw.

Yep. I think I was the only one in my class of 7 that used a band saw. Everyone else used a coping saw. I just got done first.

I did stop one guy from using a rasp. "If you're trying to cut curves, use the spindle sander or disk sander."

I am just trying to recess the headstock and laminate the piece I cut off to the back of the headstock. I will probably shape it after that.

I also have no power tools to speak of, so I generally make a dogleg neck. 1/2" stock for the neck, and 1/4" stock for the fingerboard. That same 1/4" stock is used on the back of the head. Of course this does not help you now!

I guess I could skip the recessing of the neck and put a fretboard on it. I would just have an extremely thick, Les Paul like neck LOL.

Well, I gapped my 1x2 so, I have gone to your suggestion. What do you use to glue them together? I have heard some folks suggest epoxy while others suggest Tightbond II wood glue.
