Hey Sam, been trying to get a hold of you. I ordered that CBG Tutorial from you and have sent several emails but have not heard back. well as I saw you were online I thought I'd just drop you a note. Let me know ok? Len Deddo
Well said on the broomstick discussion. I was a bit excited to see Johnny Lowebow among the members when I joined the Nation. I have never seen him perform, but was familiar with him.
Now that I've seen what John Lowe is all about, I wouldn't go across the street to hear him play.
It's a shame that some people can only be happy when making others miserable.
And that's all I've got to say about that.
So Sam...I tune the "e" string down to a "d" and the "b" down to an "a" but can I pull that "G" string up to a "D" without it breaking on the dulci strummer? Hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question.
Hi Sam: did I see somewhere that you have some instructions/tips on building a 6 string with a bolt on Strat style neck? If you do, does it cover anything on dealing with boxes that length-wise don't accomodate the neck? In other words putting the bolt on heel outside of the box. Thanks, Tim
Sam, I took your advice and picked up a little berhinger mixer and ran it into my 100 watt peavey. I believe it will do the trick for those small venues, thanks for the tip! I am working on a gospel set to play at my church. I will let you know how it goes. Hope all is well-

Sam, thanks so much for the New year wishes. I know that 2010 will be a good one. the best to you and family, and your flock. keep doing what your doing, it is inspiring to many
Hi Sam ! "Dianne in Chicago" referred me 2 U. ... I recently purchased a 1-String "Diddlybow", w/ Body = a Fruit Cake TIN ! Beautiful ! which brings me 2 U ! ... I've long had an Isolateral Triangular TIN ... which I'd love to have Converted into :: a 3- or 4- -String Bass Acoustic - Electric "CBG". (My D'bow CBG is also Acoustic - Electric.) ... Can you so Create ? and , IF "YES" , Approx. WHAT ? would be your Requested $$'s Estimate (that I could know how many $$'s to Save ! ... being on "Fixed Income / Social Security.) I've a fair Skill at Mechanical "Drafting" -- have already Sketched a Facsimili of What I'd like End Product to look like. There is a Zeroxing Company nearby , which has FAXing ability , that (after Drafting a bit more) , I could send you Shots to consider , for your $$'s Estimate ... IF U consider Necessary. My E- Mail Address is :: klaws 01 daniela @ hotmail.com >> ... Thereat , I'd give my Cell Phone # , in order that we could speak. ... Respectfully & Sincerely : " Daniela Anne Laws , ph.d. ".

thanks for the comments on the vid sam. good boxes are very rare around here so a self made box is a good alternative if you can get some good wood like cedar to construct with. cheers
You said about my freshly made diddley bow "I'd also hope that you play these enough to start to get on with playing slide... it will open a whole new world to you...", and you know, it's quite true. I've been playing for many years and played in many styles, but slide is something I've never really spent much time on and only been frustrated by when I did toy with it. The d-bow and a slide, however, is a revelation. I've been picking out lots of songs on the thing and I'm convinced for certain now that a slide and 1 string instrument is such a distilled reduction of music - such a fundament - that I should have learned on something like his many years ago. I'm learning some great melodic concepts all over again. Refreshing and invigorating! Glad I made this or my 5 year old.
Yup, Sam, those are your paired boxes! I still have the others, but they are less deep and will make great fiddles. I have a mind to try a 3-string fretted fiddle, just for laughs. Those other boxes fit nicely under the chin, and so no chinrest needed! Thanks for the good wishes!
This video is the unboxing and the demonstration of a beautiful, six stringer built by Louie Lamanna. Join Louie and I June 15 at the second annual Pittsburg...
