Hi wes. I have been lurking hear for more than a year. Found the community after my first build and now I am on number 5. I have gotten alot out of the community, figure I should give a bit back. I'll try and get some of my stuff posted up soon!

Thanks Wes.
Looking forward to my first build, remembered these instruments from my past after seeing Seasick Steve on TV in the UK, and I have decided I'm going to have bash at building something interesting and 3 string out of a child's metal lunch box and a field hockey stick if I can't find a suitable hardwood off cut anywhere.

Then I get the fun of learning tune and play the thing. I have no musical ability or training, but I fascinated by "finding the tune in the box".

Cheers Wes!

Having fun will be no problem. I have picked up a couple of Dulciboxes from Back Porch Mojo and cannot put them down. I have also built a CGB with my dad that has both of us very impressed. I'll put up some photos soon!

Hi Wes!

Thank's for the nice welcome! As a stringed instrument luthier I did what the blues does from time to time, I just went away for awhile...almost 20 yrs. But now I'm ready to start building again. Already have some nice boxes inbound from Sweden. Will jump on the wagon and head directly for the super advanced, but first a 1/2 size for my son since he won't leave my other gear alone :-)

Thanks Wes,
I never knew how to play the guitar but always wanted to. And I didn't want to waste money on an instrument that would hardly get used.
One day I saw someone make one on tv and thought. "I can do that" so I made one. I had so much fun building it that I made 2 more. With plans to make more.
I just wish I knew how to play something.
I mean the guitar sounds cool but their is something missing.

Thanks for the welcome. I am very much a beginner when it comes to the music and playing. The site has been very helpful, but I don't have anything to post just yet.

Give me a while and we'll see how it goes.

I like the neck holes, even if they don't do a thing it makes people think I know what I am doing.

Hi Wes, Thank you for the kind welcome to the community. I've been poking around (lurking) for a little while and most, if not all, of my questions about building have been answered by previous postings. What a wonderful, helpful (sometimes humorous) and welcoming group of folks here!
I'm currently in the midst of my first build. A friend of mine and I are each building our first cbg together. He already plays guitar and has a better understanding of the technicalities. I, on the other hand, am a drummer . . . hahha I guess after I finish the build I need to learn how to play it! I've also started eyeballing boxes for my next build . . . what an addiction.
Thanks again, Wes!

Wes, you have to stop posting your ideas, I keep wanting to steal them. I'm now having thoughts of your spring in the box reverb idea, I'll let you know if it works. Another question. The piezo wiring, would it work if I wired in a switch between 2 piezos'. That way I could turn on one or both for the warm tone or sharp attack as you put it? Kind of a simple tone switch. What do you think of this. And which did you say was better parallel or series? Thanks, If you want me to read it myself I'd be glad to my e mail is michael@squierdesign.com

Thank you for the welcome Wes. I'm actually in the process of building my first 2 CBGs and knowing me I won't be able to just make them regular CBGs. It's an artist thing I guess, but I imagine they will all have some kind of theme to them. Anyway, I hope to have some pictures of finished products up here in about a week or so, so stay tuned. Same bat-time, same bat-channel.
