Let's make a time maybe with Bob too, to get together and thrash out a few tunes before we hit the HBI? I've finished my new 3 string slider and I'm really happy with it. I'd like to show it to you. My Can-jo worked out good too.
Hello Richard! I was in the Music Plant yesterday and Doug said you were in the shop, great to hear you are back. I hope the trip north was OK and the new grandchild came into this world with a CBG in hand ....LOL
Happy B-day! You can never have too much fun. LOL
I will be in Canada (Montreal) for a few days myself to visit a friend. If I ever thought of moving, Canada would be a good choice.
As for Edley's book, go slow. There is a real lot of information in that book. Make sure you try to find everything you read in the book on the guitar. Exploration and reseach is the key. Break down a song you know and try to understand the relationships between the notes and chords you are playing. Take a song you know and arrange it in another key. Thank you for your comment. Enjoy.
hi richard or should i say ola? i would love to get together,,i would appreciate some lessons, that would be great! we just moved and are still getting used to the new place. i haven't got my shop set up yet so my puttering is on hold for a while..have a great trip and we will se you when you get back...bob and melodie..
Richard,
love the boat pics!
Thanks for the comment on my video awhile back - In response to your question: sorry I'm not really sure sure what the exact tuning was, to be honest with you.
I always tune in a "D - A - D' interval, but I do it by ear and it sorta ends up in whatever key seems to strike my fancy at the time. I call it "Say You See" tuning (for the third, fifth and sixth notes of the Star Spangled Banner). o-oh SAY can YOU SEE.
Hello Keni Your comment made me laugh. Never fear, I will never hit the "Big Time". But if anybody asks I tell them how I am learnig and who from. Bottleneck guitar isn"t very popular around these parts. But you never know you just might get some dvd orders from sombody I may meet. Cheers Rich
Thank you for your comment. Finally starting to feel better myself. I am glad to hear my videos have been helpful and you are playing out too. Well, if you ever hit the big time, make sure you invite your old friend Keni Lee to open for ya. I could use the work. LOL
Enjoy.

Hello Darren, The boat in the picture is a Great Lakes tug built in 1954. I converted it into a cruising boat. I sold my sailboat, the one I built ,after I bought the tug. We do not live on Otter just cruise on it. Got my box built, took a frett board off of an old beat up guitar, should be playing in a few days.

Welcome aboard, Richard! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc. -- I see you are ahead of me here).
That looks beautiful - do you live on the boat full time? Anyway - are you going to work on a CBG with a river theme? I always choose to live by water but never had the chance to live on it. Cheers - nice photos
