David Bowes & Brown Water Jerry,
I attach with a carriage bolt with its head underneath the stick and a wing nut inside the can. I punch a hole in the side of the can that is really a slot so I can loosen the wing nut and make slight adjustments in the position of the can to improve setup.
The problem I'm wrestling with now is how to make the distance between can and stick adjustable so I can adjust the string height above the frets. Right now I'm using a paper wedge torn from an LL Bean catalog, but that's not very impressive craft-wise.
