The FOURTH ANNUAL KANSAS CITY CIGAR BOX GUITAR FESTIVAL will be held on Sunday, August 17th 2014 from 3pm – 9pm at Winslow’s Kansas City-Style BBQ located at 20 E. 5th Street, Kansas City, MO. Complete information about this FREE, FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT can be found by calling (816) 217-9539 or logging onto the festival’s page of founder, Kevin M. Kraft’s official website at www.kevinmkraft@weebly.com and going to the festival page. Parking is free.

RSVP IS STRONGLY REQUESTED and can be done at the website.

Scheduled events include live performances by some of the city’s best cigar box guitar artists, OPEN MICROPHONE opportunities for the brave closet and amateur performer, a raffle will be held for fantastic prizes including cigar box guitars and cigar box guitar-related items from notable performers, the proceeds of which will benefit a worthy cause to be announced. Raffle tickets are $5 each and available at the time of the festival.

Additionally, performers will have CDs and other merchandise for sale along with art from BRADY SCOTT, creator of festival mascot TABBY BLUE THE CAT. Cigar box guitar venders will also have instruments available for purchase.

Yup, makes two performers. Lost the caricature artist as well. What else can go wrong? LOL  I shouldn't ask that, should I?

But I'm going to meet the restaurant owner tomorrow afternoon, so that'll be cool.

The 15 minutes time for OPEN MIKE is approximate, but should allow about three people to do one song each. We just lost another performer, so we have even more wiggle room as far as time goes.

I hope you do too, Rat.  Get up early and talk to Kevin and volunteer for it.   There are a whole lot of people on the schedule I want to hear.  Don't be late, the start off guy is fantastic and a real showman.
