Except in C.B.Gitty were there are piezos disks dedicated to music and that will sound when put in your CBG, it cannot be the case with the ones bought in electronic supply stores.

a recent (bad) experience showed me that all piezo disks are not equal to render the sound of teh strings. Last mine just made a little "plonk".

Is there any information link to piezo disks that can help me to choose the "good" one: tension? voltage? frequency of resonance? Dimension? etc...

They are probably not all created equal but considering they are mass produced by the tens of thousands, probably all in one or two factories I would guess they are basically the same. I buy them from Radio Shack and those have been fine.

I don't think CB Gitty's are any different or made for music.  I have pulled them out of old smoke detectors and they work just fine. I get them from Gitty now because he makes it so easy.

Roger that !

probably much safer to buy 'em from CB Gitty that are known to serve well for our application!

now if you just need a squeaker-beeper, probably anything will do that!  lol

Hi all thanks for your answers. I have no problem with CB Gitty products (they are simply good) I have a problem here in France with shipment fees + import duties, taxes and other charges. The piezo coming from the US is then becoming expensive if I don't command them in large quantities and I don't need 100 but 3!

At the same time not being "electronic oriented" I'm curious to know what and how all theses particularities (impedance, voltage, etc) impact the sound of a piezo micro made with a disk.

I get them from Maplin the electronics store, just a basic piezo disc just solder on a new shielded lead and encapsulate it in hot glue inside a slice of plastic waste pipe.

Hi Michael Fred, do you remember the caracteristics of the Maplin piezo or its reference? (I'm planning to travel to London in few weeks and I remember that there is a big Maplin store in Oxford Street ;0) so...)

Check out the K&K western mini - it looks like three little piezos that get glued under the bridge plate- they say they sound terrific-hmmmm....wonder what the secret is?

Yes look terrific but what is the secret of so tiny piezo micro????
