Never to old to get STUPID! I've been using a table saw since I was around 12. I'm almost 66. Lost the end of my finger today. Not real bad, finger will heal, just meat and fingernail. But what a wake up call. First accident with a table saw. I've hurt myself on a grinder more than anything else. I got just a little to confident...

Wow, really sorry to hear that! I trust you got professional help with the first aid part?! Please say you did.
Sorry to hear that Paul. I hope that it heals back nicely, so you can keep playing and building
I'm very careful on the table saw.( so far).I cut slow on the bandsaw and try to watch where my hands are.
I bought a router and table last year and used it a few times. But for some reason I'm just plain scared of it.So I tend to find other ways of doing what I was going to use the router table for. Right now its covered with boxes and junk. I kinda think I keep it covered up so I wont be so tempted to use it.
I hope you finger heals ok and like others said I hope it wasnt an "important" finger, ,, you know what I mean.
i say , suck it up and get back on the saw horse
yeah out of all the tools i have used the one that scares me the most is my router. i just know that some day its gonna bite me.

Funny that, I hate using the router too. Too many people lost too many body parts with them yep.
Hope it heals quickly and doesnt harm your building desires :o)
I have heard of suffering for your art but hey! At least now you have a cbg war wound to brag about. I used to be a metal fabricator and have mutilated my fingers repeatedly over the years even to the point of having to swap left to right handed for playing. Hope you heal up and get back to work!
Whenever i turn on power tools, i count all ten digits, then tell myself that i want to count all ten when i'm done! So far this has slowed me down.
Thanks for the well wishes.

I don't know how to play instruments and it won't stop me from building. Could have been a lot worse. You guys are correct, the router is also my most feared. I use it quite a lot but boy am I extra careful with it. Mine is mounted in a router table. I've ground my finger to the bone twice on grinders. I guess I figure they look pretty mundane so I don't or didn't use a much care working with them.
i CAME UP WITH ABOUT 9 AND 7/8'S

The price on that particular CBG just went up big time.
