Many many thanks for the responses.
My idea is to have a two piezo system, with one piezo suspended between two metal lids (via springs) just south of the neck. The bridge piezo will be set in the traditional manner.
I've drawn up my suspension idea on paper, but haven't transferred to .pdf yet.

I have done the 3 way with 2 piezo switch thing and its kind of like a high low tone switch, try it, it works.

Johnny, most people don't have good luck with a tone control on a piezo circuit.  Here's a wiring diagram with 2 pickups/3 way switch/volume/jack

Newbie poster - have a quick question - is there a schematic floating around that shows 2 piezo, a tone pot, a vol pot , AND a 3 position toggle switch?

To select within the neck and/or the bridge pickup you just shift the upper coin left or right. At the backside you see the magnets which hold the coin in place. On top of it, I'll put a transparent plate to guide the coin.

This is a prototype, if it works I think I make some more...

Bigger speaker worked for me too.  Better tone and volume.  Old Sparkomatic 6x9 found in a barn.

David is right, the best way to increase the volume is to crank the gain pot all the way up - this is mentioned in the instructions that come with the amp kit. While these amps should put out a very respectable level of volume with most instruments, I have found that they just don't have enough power to do much if the piezo in a CBG/CBU isn't getting enough direct vibration.

Hi Rum Sick,

Looking at the specs for the Oliva amps they are based on a Artec SDA-T 2.5W amp and from this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARTEC-SDAT-Speaker-Drive-Amplifier-Rotary... there is a view of the underside of the circuit board

and there is a gain trim pot (white plastic box with the x to turn it bottom right of the photo).  Turning this will give more overdrive which results in a crunchier, dirtier sound and louder (but with a piezo it can increase the feedback so you might need to play around to find the best setting).
