If you can get a scrap piece of wood for the neck, a cbg maker by the name of uncle crow demonstrated that you can attach a neck to a cardboard box. You can also use eye bolts with wing nuts for tuners. Not as good as wood, but is fully functional on a strapped budget.

you know .... it's these type of  obstacles , and  barriers  that induce  ingenuity , resulting in the best , most legit  , and traditional cbgs  . ;-)
