My Girl's Pussy on Vintage Washburn Ukulele and Kazoo

It's been a while since I recorded, and I caught a patch of sun today, so here you go! It's a cover of My Girl's Pussy, a delightful little pet novelty song originally recorded by Harry Roy in 1931. I'm playing a 1922 Washburn 701 mahogany uke and honking away on a metal Wazoo (kazoo with a horn). Forgive my voice, as it is definitely the worst instrument on display lol. Feel free to comment, fair or foul!

Jim, thanks for the warning about Uke players, although the title is a flashing red light warning! I'm thinking about writing a song about picking up balls when I was eleven, .......home run balls behind the stadium. Need help help with the title! True story! The real story is a guy with a herd of 20 or so cattle released them into this fenced in area about 40 feet wide behind the outfield fence, not knowing we were in there. He had the herd running, that's all I remember.me and my buddy in crime scaled a 10' wire fence in the knick of time. I might not have been here to listen to this great version of MGP.

Mighty fine! Yeah Richard you better use headphones for some of these. Uke players are known to be strangely perverted.

You guys should really check out the original Harry Roy version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCzUqf_D1wo    as well as the R.Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcwW2L0rCN4    They are both awful cool.  I was exposed to the Harry Roy version first (thanks, Dr. Demento!!), but my version is at best a hybrid of the two of those (with some of my own lyrics).  Enjoy!!

Thanks for all the kind comments!  CBJ: The chords are simple:  Intro: C, A7, ,D7, G7.  Verse: C, G7, F, C, G7, C, A7, F, G7, C.  The 'out all night break': C7, F, F7, D7, G7, G.  Thanks a ton for the compliment, and it's an honor to get it from you, John!
