Rex's Blues by Townes Van Zandt on hubcap 3 string

Rex's Blues by Townes Van Zandt
Only 2 chords. As done here, E &A.
Could be done G &C, C &F, D&G, etc.

Ride the blue wind high and free.
She'll lead you down through misery
Leave you low, come time to go.
Alone and low as low can be

If I had a nickel I'd find a game
If I won a dollar I'd make it rain
If it rained an ocean I'd drink it dry
And lay me down dissatisfied

Legs to walk and thoughts to fly
Eyes to laugh and lips to cry
A restless tongue to classify
All born to grow and grown to die

So tell my baby I said so long
Tell my mother I did no wrong
Tell my brother to watch his own
And tell my friends to mourn me none

I'm chained upon the face of time
Feelin' full of foolish rhyme
There ain't no dark till something shines
I'm bound to leave this dark behind

repeat verse one

Thanks, Patrick.  The shop is still clean and has a little amp, a 3 string and  diddley.  It's probably about 93degrees F (33C) out there right now.

I never put any thought into how the data is used for top content John and after turning the T.V. on today I see what's going on in the world I care even less.

I was going to do something for the passing of Mr. Winter but I may just do the other John's song Imagine.

Peace and world wide ceasefire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RTZ,  you did do great on that How Long Can A Man Be Strong song.

Townes does rule- or at least he is in the top few.

People like  the artful/interesting/ funny vid clips without seeing the performer.   But overall, I think more like to see how the performer does it and the instrument it is done on.   Posting lyrics and even chords is a bonus.

And!  If they are reading the lyrics and maybe singing along- they are getting more out of the song and not looking at my homely old face.

I thought my last vid would give this one a ride for the money as they went off the front page at the same time.  Guess I need to do live vids or change my name. Ha.

Townes Rules.   So do you John.

Thanks, Vinyl.   I guess I am not too old to blush.  I did a good job on this great song.  But it pales next to Townes doing it.

It's a perfect storm of goodness.

1. Uncle John

2. Townes Van Zandt

3. Great looking and sounding guitar

It couldn't possibly be anything other than great....And it isn't.
