cool paul . i had to cut and resize  even the small  coin / watch pocket from the  jeans to  fit the guitar placement ,  you may consider the same  . a shirt pocket   may darn well take up half the guitar  ;-)

I have a Double Cut Tele that I'm building and was thinking of using a Serape to cover the top. Also though of denim and now you got me leaning that way. The pocket for holding picks is a great idea. I have a denim shirt and thought about using it and a shirt pocket with button for holding picks and slide.
