Titanic (It Was Sad When That Great Ship Went Down)

Seeing as you can't avoid the endless TV programs marking the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, I don't see why you should avoid it on the Nation.

So, here's the old folk tune played on my new black and gold Rocky Patel 4 string cigar box guitar. It's tuned D G B E.

You might want to turn your sound down a little, to avoid being deafened by my ridiculously loud voice. You're lucky I didn't bash out a version of that horrible Celine Dion song.

Thanks guys.

Turtle - I've got a crackin' rockabilly version on My Heart Will Go On, and that rocks! So you might not be out of the woods yet.
Steve - I think you're onto something. "Breathtaking arrogance, class distinction, bad leadership and the loss of thousands of lives". Sounds a little like the England football team as well...apart from the loss of lives that is.
David - Cheers man.
Paul - I apologise if it dredged up any repressed horrors. I can only imagine the terror I would feel hearing a school rendition of Windmills of Your Mind.

Great stuff! Not heard this for years as we used to sing this in music lessons at secondary school, 'windmills of your mind' was the other one I remember lol!!

Great song mr.V...!

I often think the sinking of the Titanic was a portent for WW1 - breathtaking arrogance, class distinction and bad leadership resulting in the loss of thousands of innocent lives...! )-:

Great stuff Vinyl.  Never heard this before and you sing it really well.  Nice guitar too.  And thanks for sparing us on My Heart Will Go On.
