Thanks Andries, thanks AGP. I suppose pouring in a mound would be much more precise. There's the extruder too. I don't know how the others are forming theirs. I've found each method has it's time consuming tricks. I just like to throw. It's more magical to me. More like the music the slide will make.

"Great Video" Dave, definitely a lot more hard work and skill needed to make a good Ceramic Slide than I would have ever imagined  :-)

i was figering you pour them in a mould, but it takes a hole lot of more efford to produce them at the turntable, great  insighte thanks Dave ! im whit richards words on this one!

Thanks guys. I like doing it. I'm addicted to it though I feel the work in my back and legs and hands. I've been tremulous for many years so it's tricky trying to do precise work like potting slides and painting detailed art or pick guitar. I got leg cramps in the night from my session yesterday. Potting is a sport. You have to move and lift and dance on hard floors. Takes muscle. I swim and take sauna every day to keep doing it.

Yup, a lot harder than me cutting the neck off a wine bottle. I too love my Lynas slides. Why did Unchained Melody suddenly start playing in my brain?
