Hmmm. Twisted demon glow-in-the-dark half kitty. It looks...unamused. Perhaps I should crawl back under my rocks...

Here's some lyrics I came up with to fit the vid. For some reason, maybe because of the playing style, or cadences, the image of a young soldier dying on a Civil War battlefield kept running through my head. Weird. Anyhoo, here 'tis, with approximate timing marks for start and end of each section. I may try to rip this and put some scratch vocals to it...

Brother, Can You Gimme A Hand?

(0:05) Well, I say, Brother,
Can you gimme a hand?
Please gimme a hand
In this dark land.(0:15)

(0:17) Well, I say, Brother,
My hand's grown cold.
It's grown so cold;
I'm growin' old.(0:26)

(0:27) I've fallen here
Goodbye, my dear;
I'm so a-feared,
'Cuz Death's so near,
Yes, Death's so near.(0:39)

(0:40) Well, I say, Brother,
Can you gimme a hand?
Please gimme a hand
In this dark land
I've grown so weak
So very weak
And I cain't stay
Lord, I cain't stay
I've far to go
So far to go
I'm goin' home.(1:09)

(instrumental transition 1:10-1:15)

(1:16) There ain't no savin' me from sin
This lonely mess I've made I'm in
Let others learn from what they see
A caution and a shame I'll be(1:27)

(instrumental 1:28- ummm, somewhere near the end, as the danged vid keeps locking up while buffering! Aaarrrrgggh!)

Well, I say, Brother,
Can you gimme a hand?
Please gimme a hand
In this dark land.

Well, I say, Brother,
My hand's grown cold.
It's grown so cold
I'm growin' old.
Cut the cards.

Clock,

One of the best yet! Great old-timely sound, the song moves along, the simple melody lines and chord work are gorgeous, and the pic gives it a background story. I love it! It's very relaxing, but with a good natured, underlying humor. This needs to be on a compilation album; more people need to hear this.

If you don't mind, some lyrical ideas popped into my head while listening to it, that I'd like to post here. The title came first: Brother, Can You Gimme A Hand? I'll do more later today as I listen; already got 3 verses written, in about 15 minutes while having my coffee.

New CBG T-Shirt!
