thanks for the nice comments, Bear. I made a tapered dowel cutter from a drilled hole in a block of wood then cut close to the edge thus almost exposing the hole then clamping a spokeshave blade next to the partly exposed hole. In other words I made a giant pencil sharpener! The holes were made by drilling a hole and then making a 'reamer' from and old pair of scissors. A bit Heath Robinson but it works.

I'd know "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" anywhere! Nice job on the shoekulele, Roger; it looks and sounds really good. Say, it appears that you used a plug cutter or dowel cutter to make those pegs. Could you fill us in a little on how those were done?
