The Revelation of St. John (Original Song)

My attempt at writing a old gospel/folk song that might have been on Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music. I love the imagery contained in Revelations, but I'm sorry I didn't get the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in...Mind you, always time for more verses.

Played on my Cadburys tin guitar tuned gDG.

Lyrics:

Bare record of the mighty word,
Its prophesy shall soon be heard. x2
Angelic voices did proclaim,
Final Judgement was its name. x2

The Revelation of Saint John,
Chapter, verse and song.

The seventh seal will be undone,
The empty silence is begun. x2
Wormwood star from heavens fell,
Water spoiled the people yell. x2

The Revelation of Saint John,
Chapter, verse and song.

Reward shell be the tree of life,
An end to pain and earthly strife. x2
The city's gates will open to,
The righteous man to walk on through. x2

The Revelation of Saint John,
Chapter, verse and song.

Bare record of the mighty word,
Its prophesy shall soon be heard

Ah man thats cool. You get a good sound from that tin. Not used a tin before might have a go at that.

You just need a southern accent (america not kent, he he).

I missed this one. Great playing and singing. That tin git has a great old timey sound.

Cheers, Gus!

Ant - I reckon you're right. But then, there ain't nothin' can't be improved with a tuba solo.

loving it mate,

all the fire and brimstone was just what I needed to get me going this morning - I think all it needs is a tuba solo.

Can't remember the last time I worked on one of my own songs either Vinyl, shame really.

This works great as a folk song. I like the single note lines, good mix with the slide.
